Orah Stanton was born at Numa, Iowa. She was the daughter of George Stanton and Anne Magnall Stanton, both of whom preceded her in death in March, 1952. She attended school at Numa and Centerville, and attended business school at Des Moines, where later she was employed by the Bankers Life Co.

On Nov. 1, 1940, she was married at Burlington, Iowa, to Stanley Anderson. For the next several years, including the years of World War II, they lived at Tipton, Ind., Rochester, Ind., Silver Spring, Md., Philadelphia, Penn., New Orleans, La., Los Angeles, Calif., and Norfolk, Va. Following the war, they returned to their native state of Iowa, and lived there until February, 1947, when they moved to Kansas City. In March, 1949, they moved into their home at Mission, Kan., where Mrs. Anderson passed away Dec. 4, 1953, following a prolonged illness.

She was a member of Old Mission Methodist Church, Highway 50 and State Park Drive, Kansas City, Kan.

Orah is survived by her husband, Stanley Anderson; one sister, Mrs. Madge Thompson of Homestead, Fla., one brother, Claude Stanton, of Bellevue, Ohio, and many relatives in Iowa and Missouri. Many friends in Greater Kansas City, and other localities, where an active life had brought her many associates, will also mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held in the Blackman Funeral Home at Kansas City, Monday, Dec. 7, 1953. Burial service was at the South Marion Cemetery, southeast of Stratford, Dec. 8, with Rev. Merlin Miller of Kansas City officiating.

The following relatives attended services at Kansas City: Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Erickson of Webster City, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson of Lehigh, and Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Swanson of Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Erickson of Des Moines attended the burial service at South Marion Cemetery.
