Florence Chearney age 86 of Acme, Pennsylvania passed away, February 13, 2005 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born September 24, 1918 at Clinton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late George W. and Lena Frieberg Keefer. She was a life long resident of Acme and was a member of the Elbethal Church of The Brethren at White where she was the Church Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence(Bill) Chearney and on February 24, 2005 they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, a daughter, Virginia R. White and husband Blaine of Latrobe, a son, Donald J. Chearney and wife Betty of Owensdale, the following grandchildren, Lawrence White and wife Michelle, Douglas White and wife Kelly, Brenda White, Lisa Weightman and husband Gary, Debra Zisek and husband Dean, Michelle White, Donald Chearney, Jr. and wife Darlene, David Chearney and wife Sherry, Daniel Chearney and wife Sharon, Christina McMaster and husband Dennis, Debbie Neighbors and husband, Donald, Mark Whetsel and wife Stacy, Kim Hall and husband John and Raymond Oldland and wife Bobbie, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, also survive as well a sister, Mrs. John (Blanche) Chearney of Acme. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the following siblings, Velma Keefer, Verna Richter, Bessie Laymon, Myrtle Keefer, Earl Keefer, Emory Keefer, Marie Weimer, Violet Burkholder and Gladys Bartley and two half-brothers, Samuel Keefer and William Keefer. Friends will be received in The Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc. Route 711, Melcroft Pennsylvania on Wednesday from 2-4-7-9- where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Leroy Kesler officiating. Committal and Interment will follow in Keslar Cemetery.
