Funeral services for Ida May Barnes were held Saturday, March 27, 1976 at 2:00 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Brand of Steele officiating.

Mrs. Barnes was born May 23, 1903, in Holland to the late Bas and Montie O. Lester. She died March 25, 1976, in Pemiscot Memorial Medical Center at Hayti at the age of 72.

She was a member of the Steele Church of Christ and was a Past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star A.F.&A.M. 330 of Steele.

Mrs. Barnes leaves one daughter, Madalene Biggs of Fenton, Mo.; one grandson, Robert Biggs of Demopolis, Ala.; one great-grandson, Robert Scott Biggs of Demopolis; and one sister, Lottie Earls of Kennett.

Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery at Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Marvin Childers, Guy Channell, Hugh Samford, Al Robnett, Charles Earls and Lanny Samford.
