Lenore M. Bond, 84, of Kempton, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 in the Essics Commons at the Berks Heim, Leesport, where she was a resident since January 9, 2009.

She was wife of Ethan A. Bond, for 64 years on November 8, 2008. She was born in Lynn Twp., a daughter of the late Howard Edwin and Eva M. (Gruber) Fister.

During the 1960s and 1970s, she was last employed as a clerk at Albrights Mill and later as a waitress at the Kempton Hotel, both in Kempton. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregation of New Bethel Union Church, Kempton.

She was also a member of The Kempton Rod & Gun Club, a life member of the Kempton Fire Company, the Ladies Auxiliary of Lyons Fire Company and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shoemakersville Fire Company.

Survivors: Janice S., wife of Richard Stanislaw, of Reading; two sons, James E. Bond and his wife, Karen, of Ontario, Canada and Bruce E. Bond of New York City, N.Y.; sister, Emma C. Lenhart of Fleetwood; several nieces, nephews; seven grandchildren, a great- grandson.

Services: Monday, April 13 at 11 a.m. in New Bethel Union Church, 135 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton. A calling hour to precede service beginning at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David W. Blitch officiating. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Arrangements by the Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli. Contributions: New Bethel U.C.C. Memorial Fund, 13 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton, PA 19529.
