Doris Lewis Poole, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.
She was born in Wake County on March 17, 1930 to the late Vasco Earl Lewis and Bessie Alford Lewis. On October 23, 1948
She married Dwight McGee Poole. Doris graduated from Knightdale High School and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and a friend to many.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Reverend George Pullium officiating.
Burial: Lewis Family Plot at New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery, Mailman Road, Knightdale, NC
Surviving: Husband: Dwight Poole; Daughters: Gloria P. Denison (Paul) of Stem Susan P. Smith (Mike) of Raleigh; Sisters: Frances Cooke of Raleigh, Janet Hardee of Shallotte, Faye Hurst of Apex, Lyn Troxler of Cary ; Brothers: Bill Lewis of Raleigh, Robert Lewis of Goldston, Curtis Lewis of Raleigh; A host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Stan Lewis and sister, Evelyn Godley.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 to 1:45 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 prior to the service at the funeral home.
