Gusman was survived by his wife Ruby; 4 daughters: Anna Martinez, Darlene Valdez, and Stephanie Valdez of Chama, and Vicky Valdez of Bernalillo; mother Josefita Valdez of Bernalillo; 2 brothers: Gabe of Albuquerque and Felix of Bernalillo; 2 sisters: Odelia Garcia of Tierra Amarilla and Benita Garcia of La Mesilla; and many other relatives.
Gusman was a member of the Rio Arriba County Sheriff's Posse. He retired from the new Mexico State Highway Department.
Funeral services were on Jan 26th in the San Jose Church in Los Ojos. Burial was in the Cebolla Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Lee Maes, Felix Martinez, Bernie Garcia Jr., Luke Maestas, Eulogio Salazar, and Orlando Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sheriff's Posse Company A.
