Was Approaching Her 80th Birthday
Mrs. Sarepta Bates Died Early Friday Morning - Burial in Kansas.
Mrs. Sarepta Bates, 79, died at 1 o'clock Friday morning at the home of her son, Frank L. Bates, 502 East avenue, death being due to the infirmities of old age. She was born in York State in 1831 and would have reached her 80th birthday next July.
A funeral service will be held at the house Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The remains will be shipped on the midnight train to Winfield, Kansas and will thence be taken eight miles overland to Floral, where interment will occur Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Bates, who formerly resided at Floral, died in Ohio, yesterday. The body will be shipped to Floral for burial. The funeral will probably be held Monday.
Mrs. Bates was the mother of Bates Bros., who at one time conducted a nursery at Floral.
