Harry Dean Bresley, 89, of Ord died Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Valley View Living Center in Ord.

Mr. Bresley bequeathed his body to the University of Nebraska Anatomical Board. A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ord. Pastor Russel J. Troester will officiate. Private interment will be held at a later date at the Ord City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church or the Valley County Museum. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Dean Bresley was born January 31, 1923, to Harry and Clara (Wisda) Bresley at Ord, Nebraska. He graduated from Ord High School in 1939, where he lettered in football and track.

After graduation Dean began farming with he father, Harry Bresley on the place where he lived all his life, except for the first few years of his married life when he and Heloise lived at "the other place", about one mile to the northwest.

Dean farmed, raised cattle and fed cattle on the farm three miles north of Ord. He also built several pieces of machinery including a hay sweep and stack mover and entered into several ag related businesses, including Bresley-Koelling Morea Liquid Feed business and a custom hay grinding business. Dean started a gravel pumping business which he later sold and in 1981 he stopped actively farming. In about 1980 Dean got his real estate license and he and Heloise worked for AgLand Realty selling farm and ranch real estate before opening their own brokerage in Ord. They were both very active in the Nebraska Realtors Association and the Realtors Land Institute, traveling to state and national meetings regularly. Also at about this time, he and Heloise got their pilot licenses and traveled widely for business and pleasure.

Dean is survived by a son, Mark Bresley of Omaha; granddaughter, Nicole Ward and husband, Casey, great-grandson, Christian, great-granddaughter, Grace; grandson, Jason Bresley; a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Libby Bresley; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Bob Fast; and 1965-66 Portuguese exchange student, Jana Martins Farge and her husband, Jean Claude.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Heloise; a daughter, Sheryl Bresley Naeve; an infant daughter, Jeanine Bresley; an infant son, Greg Bresley; a daughter-in-law, Crystal Bresley; and a brother, Milo Bresley.
