Death of Mrs. Jacob Anderson (should be Andersen)
Maren Anderson (Andersen)

Sunday morning at 8:30, Mrs. Jacob Anderson of Osakis died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Knudson of Osakis Township. She had been suffering during the past nine months from diabetes, but was able to be around until the last few days. She arrived at the home of her daughter Tuesday of last week from a visit at Alexandria, and was getting weaker so was taken to bed where she remained until death at the good old age of 1 years and two weeks.
Miss Maren Jensen was born July 4th 1834 at Spjellerup, Denmark. On Aug. 23, 1858 she and Jacob Andersen were married. They remained in Denmark until leaving for America in 1870. They came direct to Nelson, Minnesota and settled on the farm now known as the Miller farm and on which a part of Nelson town is now located. Four children were born to them. One died at the age of four, the other three are Mrs. O.J. Stedje of Osakis, Mrs. R. J. Jobes of Alexandria and Stina (Mrs. Alfred) Knudson of Osakis, who remain to mourn the departure of a loving and faithful mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Andersen lived at Nelson on their farm for a number of years when they moved to Alexandria, where lived for about twenty years, and where Mr. Andersen died about eleven years ago, when Mrs. Andersen moved to Osakis where she has since resided.
The funeral was held from the home of Alfred Knudson, Rev. Paulson of Nelson officiating. The remains were placed at rest at the Nelson Cemetery. The pall bearers were Rasmus Simonson, Hans Jensen, George Hanson, Hans Peterson, L. Hanson and Peter Boesen.
(The funeral was probably held at the Danish Lutheran Church of Nelson.)
