. Freddie Ray Platt. Freddie Ray Platt died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 83. A native of Marion, La., Mr. Platt had lived in Vicksburg since 1967. Serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korean War, Mr. Platt was employed with Louisiana Mill in Bastrop, La. He retired from International Paper Mill after 39 years. He was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Ernest and Sarah Velma Edwards Platt; and siblings. Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Platt of Vicksburg; a daughter, Velma Joy Platt Robbins of Pearl; a son, Michael Ray Platt of Eagle Lake; a brother, Wilbur Platt of Monroe; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Rev. David Case and Dr. Frank Lescallette officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Assembly of God, 1790 Sherman Ave., Vicksburg, MS, 39183.
