Fred B. Jaeger passed away at his home in this village Wednesday morning, Feb. 18, at 9:05 o'clock, at the age of 74 years. He had been in failing health for about 2 years.

He was born in the town of Blanchard, Lafayette county, Jan. 12, 1868, of the parents Jacob and Margaret Frank Jaeger. He attended the Yellowstone and Equal Rights rural schools. His marriage to Lena Kurth took place in Dodgeville by Rev. Father Ambauen. To them three sons were born, William Jaeger of Ripon, Bernard Jaeger of Rockford, and Harold Jaegers of Argyle. Mrs. Jaeger died when her sons were all at a tender age. The deceased's marriage to Mrs. Bridget McGuigan took place Jan. 20, 1902, in Darlington by Father Lillus. They resided in Darlington and Yellowstone before moving to Blanchardville about 37 years ago. He was secretary of the local branch of the M.W.A. Lodge for 25 years, janitor of the local high school for 30 years, and for many years a member of the Blanchardville Fire department.

Survivors besides the widow and three sons are a step-daughter Mrs. O. J. Bolender, a step-son W. F. McGuigan, of Blanchardville; five granddaughters, Margaret, Lucille, Patricia, June and Marie Louise Jaeger; two step-granddaughters Marion McGuigan, Betty Bolender, two step-grandsons Raphael and Roland McGuigan; one sister, Mrs. Mary Coffey, Blanchardville; one half-brother Stephen S. Jaeger, Cincinnati, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters, and one step-daughter Miss Kate McGuigan who passed away on July 1, 1941.

Funeral services will be held from Immaculate Conception church Friday morning at 9:30, conducted by Rev. Father Duffy. Burial will take place in Calvary cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tom Schindler, Wm. McCloskey, Albert Cathers, Ed Leonard, Ed Thompson, Jr., J. O. Steensland.

The deceased had a wide circle of friends. He was a kind an understanding husband and father and a true friend to everyone.
