Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary Ltd., Funeral Home, East Moline. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Winfield Scott Township Cemetery, Winfield, Iowa.
Hazel Louise Abel was born August 25, 1916, in Ollie, Iowa, the daughter of James and Blanche (Bush) Abel. She married Dougal Nelson in 1932, in Monmouth, Illinois. He died in 1952. She married Samuel Kennedy in 1954, in East Moline, Illinois. He died in 1981.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Dufur of East Moline, IL; three sons, John C. Nelson of East Moline, IL, Larry Nelson of Pepperell, MA, and James Nelson of Mount Pleasant, TX; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Crumly of Durant, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and two brothers.
