Margaret E. Crumly, 97, of Durant, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport.

There will be no visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ or the Shriner's Crippled Childrens Hospital in her memory.

Margaret Elizabeth Abel was born May 20, 1920, in Louisa County, the daughter of James and Blanche (Bush) Abel. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1938. She married Leo Dever Crumly on December 21, 1936, in Monmouth, Illinois. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Quality Foundry in Stockton for 29 years. Leo preceded her in death on October 25, 1988. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Wilton. She enjoyed reading, shopping and traveling. She loved fresh flowers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Kenneth) McKee of Durant; three grandchildren, Michelle (Chad) Bullock of Durant, Carrie Malone of Muscatine and Kenny McKee of Durant; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great-grandson, Matt, one great-granddaughter, Kassie, one sister, Hazel Kennedy and two brothers, Louis and John Abel.
