He was born on May 26, 1926 and was a life-long resident of Jane Lew.
Surviving are five sons, Kenneth Allman and his wife Marsha, Robert Allman and his wife, Shelley, John Allman, Larry Allman and Paul Allman; five grandchildren, Richana Hebb, Joseph Dean, Erica Allman, Dustin Allman and Brandon Allman and one great-grandchild, Shaylee Hebb.
Mr. Allman was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Allman, six sisters, Pauline Skinner, Nellie Bennet, Beatrice Groves, Virginia Martin, Annebelle Davidson and Mary Catherine Perkins and three brothers, Homer Allman, William Allman and Bayward Allman.
Archie was a World War II veteran having served with the United States Army. He was retired from King Knob Coal Company and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He enjoyed gardening and keeping up the family farm where he resided. Archie was known to all as a kind and giving person who chose to live a simple lifestyle. He was always there to help those in need and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at get-togethers.
Friends will be received Sunday afternoon from 3 - 6 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home, Jane Lew, where funeral services will be held Monday morning, September 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be accorded.
