VICINITY DEATHS - EDWARD NEENAN - EAST BLOOMFIELD

Edward Neenan, 87, lifelong resident of East Bloomfield, died Tuesday May 6, 1952 at his home on lower Michigan Street.

The son of the late John and Catherine Curran Neenan, he was long associated with his late brothers in crafts in East Bloomfield and served as a skilled wood and iron worker for the Neenan Brothers firm.

The late Dennis and Daniel Neenan were renowned for their manufacture of wagons and carriages and Edward assisted them.

Another brother, the late Thomas Neenan, a master carpenter, built many of the houses in East Bloomfield and Holcomb and as well many outlaying districts of the township.

At one time Edward Neenan devoted several years to carpentering and many of the present homes of residents are those which he aided in building.

Forty years ago he purchased the farm on which he was living at the time of his death and to which he had been confined by illness for the past five years. His wife, Mrs. Mary Toomey Neenan died in 1938.

Survivors include three sons, Walter E. Neenan, who for several years served as supervisor for East Bloomfield, James W. Neenan and Louis A. Neenan, all of East Bloomfield, a brother William, who resides in the Neenan family home, and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the home at 8:30 a.m. Friday and at 9 a.m. from St. Bridget's Church with burial in St. Bridget's Cemetery.
