HARRY WALTER POUSH

Harry Walter Poush was born near Newbern in Marion county, Jan. 23, 1888. He passed away Feb. 7, 1959, at the age of 71 years and 15 days, having spent his entire life in Marion and Lucas counties.

On April 25, 1909, he married Carrie L. Duckworth. Four children were born to this union: Loren Boyd of Arlington, Va., Cleo Trecker of Halbur, Ia., Jessie Altenbernt of Detroit, Mich., and Carlos, who lost his life in Italy during World War II. Also preceding him in death were his father and mother, Benjamin F. and Emma Fry Poush.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour at the age of 16 and joined the United Brethren church at Newbern. In 1926 he transferred his membership to the First Baptist church of Chariton, and remained a faithful member to his death.

He is survived by his wife and three children, eleven grandchildren, as well as other relatives an a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 9, at the First Baptist church, with the Rev. A. E. Beals and the Rev. John Bauserman officiating. Interment was at the Chariton cemetery. The Miley Funeral home had charge of arrangements.
