Jim worked most of his life in the woodworking industry and was an excellent cabinetmaker. He was a former president and treasurer of Buffelen Woodworking of Tacoma. He was the past president of Tacoma Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union and Union Employees Mutual Life Insurance Co.
