"Wayne Gilbert Greer, 74, of Bean Station died Sunday, July 9.

A member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Bean Station, he also was a charter member of the Bean Station Volunteer Fire Department, a 50-year Mason, belonging to Tate Springs Lodge #438, a Shriner and a member of the carpenter's union.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, a granddaughter; brothers, Dennis and Stanley Greer; sister, Bertie Holt; brother-in-law, Chilous Brantley, and sister-in-law, Edna Greer.

Surviving are his daughter, Jean Fuell of Bean Station; a great-grandson; brothers and sister-in-law, Ray and Marcene Greer of Knoxville and Grover "Doc" Greer of Sharps Chapel; sisters and brother-in-law, Jessie Ward and Carolyn and Roy Cantwell of Morristown and Audrey Brantley of Bean Station; sister-in-law, Nellie Greer of Morristown, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral was held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home of Mooresburg with Rev. Lester Greene, Rev. Billy Carroll and Rev. Raymond Long officiating.

Graveside services were set for Wednesday morning in Bean Station Cemetery."
