Minnie (Minnie Maw) Greer Staley, 86, of Rt. 1, Bean Station, died Monday, Feb. 24, at Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home after a lingering illness.

The oldest member of New Prospect Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Greer.

Surviving are four daughters, Jessie Ward and Mrs. Roy (Carolyn) Cantwell of Morristown; Mrs. Roy (Birdie) Holt of Rogersville and Mrs. Chilous (Audrey) Brantley of Bean Station; four sons, Grover of Sharps Chapel, Ray of Knoxville, Wayne of Bean Station and Stanley Greer of Rutledge; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jessie Rice of Knoxville.

Funeral services were set for Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist with Rev. Frank Spoon, Rev. Charles White and Rev. Charlie Gilbert officiating.

Burial in Helton Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Stubblefield Funeral Home of Morristown in charge of arrangements."
