The daughter of Ephraim and Alice Hold Densmore, she married Laurin N. Ashley on July 12, 1843 in La Salle County, IL.
They farmed and raised 5 of eight children born to them there. Twins Edwin and Elwin both died in infancy. Ella Mae died a child. The others were:
