A.J. DeWitt of the southeast part of the county was in Ozark last Friday and while visiting in the office of Reg M. Mapes, circuit clerk and ex-officio recorder, was seized with a heart attack which proved fatal. The deceased was born on March 4, 1873, and at the time of his death had reached the age of 64 years, six months and 23 days. He was united in marriage to Mintie Hilton on Sept. 9, 1900,to which union were born eight children, all of whom survive. Besides the widow and children he is survived by many other immediate relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 2:30 p.m. at the Meadows schoolhouse with Rev. Harold Day officiating. Burial was made in the Meadows cemetery under the direction of the Klepper Funeral Home of Ozark.
