Julia Osborne, 78, of Ames, formerly of Independence, died Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines. Surviving are her husband, Edwin "Vern" Osborne; four daughters, Ruth Harris of Ames, Vernice Slusher of Fresno, CA, Darlene Crocco of Sacramento, CA, and Betty Foss of San Marco, CA; a son, George of Waterloo; three brothers, Howard and Arthur Satterlee, both of Independence and Glen Satterlee of Quasqueton; two sisters, Eleanor Davis of Independence and Eula Prindle of Quasquenton; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Services Saturday with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
