Annette S. (Westermann) Waiss, 92 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin died on July 28, 2007. Annette was born on October 2, 1914 in Bremen, Kansas. She moved to Brighton, Colorado in 1920 at the age of 5 years. She attended Zion Lutheran School and was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brighton where she shared her love of music by singing in the choir. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1932.
After graduation, Annette was employed by Adams County Treasurer's Office. For a brief time, Annette lived in California with her husband. Upon returning to Brighton, she was once again employed by Adams County and retired after 38 years of faithful service.
She married George Waiss, an animator for Walt Disney, in 1945 and was blessed with two sons.
This gentle soul was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Fred (Verlene) of Prairie Du Chien, WI and William of Nederland, CO. She is also survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Irma Bettger and Lenore Westermann of Brighton and one brother, Bud Westermann of Loveland, CO, as well as nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 3, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Graveside will be Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery; Brighton, Colorado. Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, August 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church; Brighton, Colorado.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Zion Lutheran Music Fund at 1400 Skeel Street; Brighton, Colorado.
