OBIT - Wisconsin State Journal - April 18, 1980 - Nesson, Mr. Paul R. - MADISON - Mr. Paul R. Nesson, age 71, of 2229 Keyes Ave., died on Thursday, April 17, 1980, at a local hospital. He was born January 14, 1909, in Brookings, South Dakota. He was a retired maintenance man for the University of Wisconsin Primate Lab. He is survived by his wife, Alexia; a son, Paul, Jr. of McFarland, a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Gasdorf of Madison; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Elmer Erickson of San Clemente California; and three brothers, John of Madison, Vilas of Plano, Illinois and Arley of Middleton. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 120 W. Johnson St., at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19. The Reverend Austin Henry will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18, at the Joyce Funeral Home, 540 W. Washington Ave., where rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Madison General Hospital School of Nursing Scholarship Fund.

Paul made a beautiful miniature wooden high chair for his daughter Nancy's soon-to-be first grandchild. The craftsmanship was excellent.

Sara J. Nesson, age 66, of McFarland, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on Dec. 16, 1942, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the daughter of Thomas and Jean (Campbell) Hall. Sara graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of science degree in nursing and from the University of Colorado with a master of science degree in nursing. She also earned two master of arts degrees from the University of Wisconsin in classics and linguistics. Sara married Paul Nesson on Dec. 22, 1979, in Parma, Mich. She worked at Nazareth House as a registered nurse. Sara enjoyed photography, oil painting, biking, hiking, astronomy and many outdoor activities. She is survived by her husband, Paul Nesson; children, Erik (Diane) Nesson of Atlanta, Ga., and Abigail Nesson (fiance, Matt Eddington) of Madison; her mother, Jean Hall of Evanston, Ill.; siblings, Alice Turk of St. Louis, Mo., Joanna (Donald) Gwinn of Evanston, Ill., and David (Elizabeth) Hall of Boise, Idaho; sister-in-law, Donna Hall of Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews. Sara was preceded in death by her father, Thomas; and a brother, Steve Hall. A memorial service will be held at HOSPICECARE CHAPEL, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009. Visitation will be at Hospice from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. or the Audubon Society.
