She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County and a daughter of the late Dock and Myrtle Ballard of Zirconia. She was owner and operator of Tuxedo Community Store for 12 years and owner and operator of Hill's General Store in East Flat Rock for nine years. Her hobbies included gardening vegetables and growing numerous varieties of flowers. She also loved canning fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed and remembered by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Teddy Ballard and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Searcy Isaacs.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Oscar Isaacs of Zirconia; two sons, Rex Isaacs of Travelers Rest, S.C. and Brad Isaacs and his wife, Veronica of Zirconia; two daughters, Debbie Isaacs of Riverton, Wyo. and Jennifer Thiessen and her husband, Michael, of Zirconia; three sisters, Lavonia Dayton of Kansas, Juanita Beddingfield of Florida and Judy Helms of Zirconia; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Staton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, N.C., 28731. The family would also like to say a special thank you to Dr. Clara Kim of Hendersonville.
