A native of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Dock & Myrtle Ballard.
He worked at Cranston Print Works for 28 years; after serving 2 years in the US Army. He was the member of Tuxedo First Baptist Church; and he loved to deer hunt and fish.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Doris Ballard; a daughter, Gina Ballard; a son, Ronald T. Ballard, Jr. and his wife Christi; a stepson, Nick; and the love of his life, Melody Ballard his granddaughter all of Tuxedo; four sisters, Lavonia Dayton of Abilene, KS; Juanita Beddingfield and her husband Fred, Gaynelle Isaacs and her husband Oscar, and Judy Helms and her husband Carroll; and a special mother-in-law & father-in-law, Burgin & Nina Beddingfield all of Tuxedo.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. John Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
