Robert M. Bielen, 69, 1209 South Mosinee, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 1989, at the Wausau Hospital Center, Wausau. He was born June 14, 1919, in the town of Knowlton, the son of the late John and Appolonia Bielen. He married Katherine Wengelski on Sept. 7, 1946, in the town of Knowlton. She survives. He was employed at the Mosinee Paper Corporation from 1946 until 1982 at which time he retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mosinee, and the VFW, Mosinee. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army and fought in the Battle of Bulge.

He did some farming and liked to fish and hunt. Survivors, besides his wife, include three sons, Ronald, Wausau, Tony, Mosinee, and Alan, at home; two daughters, Mrs. James (Rita) Olson, Mosinee, and Joanne Glenetski, Schofield; three brothers, Alois, Loyal, Edward, Mosinee, and Ted, St. Germaine; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Julia) Strojny, Mrs.
Ed (Angeline) Hahn and Mrs. Myron (Betty) Kroll, all of Mosinee, and Mrs. Clara Molinare, Wausau; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee, with the Rev. Rex Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m.to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, where there will be a VFW service at 7:30 p.m. and a parish rosary service at 8:00 p.m.
