Yetta was the daughter of Mendel Strum, a tailor from Austria, and his wife, Rose Saturensky Strum, a housewife from Russia. Her Jewish name was Yacha.

She was a stenographer before her marriage.

She married Ralph Cosover in the Bronx, New York. They had a son.

The family lived in the Bronx for many years. By 1954 they had moved to Easton, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania, where Ralph had become a shipping foreman at his brother Nathan's Kasover Pants Factory.

Yetta was a lovely woman who was always friendly and inquisitive. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews at family parties.

Towards the end of her life, she moved back to New York City to live with her son. This is where she passed away.
