Anna “Anastasia” Helen Szaruga

FAIRMONT — Anna “Anastasia” Helen Szaruga, 84, of Fairmont, died Wednesday morning (Sept. 7, 2011) at the Tygart Center.
She was born in Barton, Ohio, on Oct. 30, 1926, daughter of the late Anthony and Anastasia Gensicka Szaruga.
Anna worked as a housekeeper for many years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watson.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Pat Szaruga of Germantown, Ohio, and nephews, Stephen (Angela) Szaruga
and children and Michael (Elizabeth) Szaruga and children, all of Ohio.
She is also survived by her godchild, Sue Nuddleman of California, and some relatives in Poland. She is also survived by her longtime friend and caregiver,
Toni Balenger and her family, Anna Ferrise
and Alberta Lipscomb, all of Fairmont.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Martin Szaruga.
Friends may call at Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, on Saturday from 10 a.m until 1 p.m.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Robert A. Perriello Officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
