Kathelene J. "Kay" Cottrell, 70, Marion, died at 11:51 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 in Marion General Hospital.
She was born in Orma, W. Va. to the late Harley and Levinia (Mace) Sampson. She married Rex Cottrell on Aug. 11, 1955. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1999.
Kay was previously employed at AGP Plastics, Peru, and was a sports fan.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Barry) Cottrell, Marion, and Bunny (Bruce) Moore, Sweetser; sons, Steve (Judy) Cottrell, Marion, Tom Cottrell, Marion, Butch (Brenda) Mace, Gas City and John (Loretta) Sampson, Marion; sister, Doris Hope (Wayne) Moore, Sweetser; daughter-in-law, Kim Cottrell, Marion; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; and dogs, Spike and Peanut.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Cottrell; son, Charles "Rick" Cottrell; sister, Mary Lou Cottrell; and brother, Charles Mace.
Services are at noon Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with Pastor Kenneth Sandefur officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park.
