Lola was born April 4, 1910 in Logan, Utah. Her mother passed away when she was four years old and her sister, Donna was two. Her father remarried Chloa Samantha Banks four years later, making the family whole again. They had five more children, Berry Banks (Lucy), Marjorie Banks Reed (George), J.W. Banks (Afton), Jeanne Banks Masters (Ron), Ben B. Banks (Susan). Lola attended West High School where she loved being a cheerleader. She trained in business and worked for several years in a life insurance company and later for the Federal Land Board.
She married Eugene C. Ludwig October 19, 1932 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children, Paul Eugene Ludwig (Shannon), John Banks Ludwig (Sandra), Richard Howard Ludwig (DeeAnn), Mary Jane Knight. 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grand-children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, son, Paul, granddaughter, Kimberly Knight, sister, Donna and brother, Berry.
Lola had over 8000 volunteer hours at the LDS Hospital and served as Director of Volunteers for seven years. She held many church positions including Relief Society president and Young Women's president. One of the highlights of her life was serving with her husband, Gene, who was president of the New Zealand South Mission from 1969-1972. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. We would like to thank all those who cared for her at the Chateau Brickyard and Alta Ridge Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001 at 12 noon at the Brookshire Ward, 3487 S 1300 E, where friends may call from 10:45-11:45 and on Friday, Aug. 31, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Dr. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
