Mrs. Ursu was born on September 14, 1913, in Ellwood City to the late Horace Abbaticchio and Elizabeth Cartwright Abbaticchio. She was a member of Lincoln High School class of 1931 and the Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church. In her youth, she was a professional dancer in various cities. Anne enjoyed reading and knitting.
Mrs. Ursu is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Susan (David) Lipinski of Lower Burrell; one son, Philip Ursu of Indiana, PA; four granddaughters, Leslie (David) Hengelsberg of Gibsonia, and Annie, Mary Katherine and Shelby Ursu of Indiana, PA; one grandson, Christopher John (Melissa) Ursu of Pittsburgh, and five great-grandchildren, Mia, Ella, Abigail and Maren Hengelsberg, and John Christopher Ursu. She is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Everett) Campbell of Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Norma Ursu of Ellwood City, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Ursu, whom she married April 30, 1938, and passed away April 6, 1998; one son, John Dennis Ursu, in 2009; one grandson, John Ursu, in infancy; three brothers, Robert, Horace 'Pinky' and John 'Jack' Abbaticchio, and one sister, Mary Pollard.
Private visitation and services will be held on Saturday for the family in the SAMUEL TEOLIS FUNERAL HOME INC., 309 Spring Ave., Ellwood City, with Rev. Derek Longbrake officiating. Interment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ellwood City Library or to the Good Samaritan Hospice House, 146 Neely School Rd., Wexford, PA 15090.
