MAN WHO CAME TO IOWA IN COVERED WAGON DIES, 84

Services Wednesday for Retired Farmer at Independence.

Independence, Ia.—Services for A. G. Cahill, 84, retired farmer, who died at 10:45 p. m. Monday at his home here, will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the Union church at Quasqueton with Rev. Mr. Long officiating. Burial will be in Quasqueton. Cahill had been ill for four weeks and bedfast for the last 10 days. He was born Sept. 17, 1848, in Lima, O., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Cahill. At the age of 14, he and one of his brothers came to Iowa in a covered wagon. He settled on a farm near Quasqueton and lived there until 15 years ago. He married Miss Jennie Coats in Quasqueton April 20, 1876. She preceded him in death March 12, 1910. Surviving are the following children, Ezra C., Center Point; Garfield and Oran, Pine River, Minn.; Henry E., Sioux City; Eugene, Independence; Ethel G. Cahill, Oelwein, and Mrs. Frank Heiserman, Rowley. Thirty-three grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Jacob Sevick, Pandora, O.; Charles L. Cahill, Lima, O., and Stantan Cahill, Lake Wilson, Minn.
