He was born in Sulfer Rock Arkansas. He was raised in Springfield Mo. He sold and repaired typewriters at his buisness. Aaron Office Machines for many years in Kansas City Mo. He moved to Yuscumbia Mo. with his wife in 1978. ]
He leaves his wife Jean of the home. A daughter from the previous marriage Melody and Hansraj Sadarangani. three granddaughters, Sandeia Sadarangani, Asha and Anthony Abbott, Sharmila and Kenny Allen and six great grandchildren, Wade, Tiffany, Gabrielle, Tony, Evan and Luke. He also leaves his sister Virginia Harpool and many nieces and nephews.
Harold proudly served his country from 1942-1945 in the European Theatre in World War II where he earned three Bronze Stars. He was a member of the VFW Post #2442 and Commander for nine terms. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #229 and a member of the Lions Club. He loved his family and people in general. He enjoyed his trips to town. He made friends whereever he went. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Saturday January 17, 2009 at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon Mo. 1-2p.m.

Interment will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery in Tuscumbia Mo. with Bro. Bob Hoskins officiating.
