Henry A. Ising was born to Adolph Ising and Mary Holtschneider Ising in Germany on Nov 30, 1859. He married his wife, Mary, in 1887. They immigrated to the US with their family in 1891; he became a citizen in 1900. Henry died in Kansas City, Missouri on Sep 16, 1936. He was predeceased by his wife in 1905 and by his son, Henry, in 1917. He and Mary had eight other children: Elizabeth, Martha, Marie, Adele, Max, Bruno, Rudolf and Herman.
