Pauline Harris Johnson Sturgis was taken from us on Friday, September 21, 2012. She lived in Texarkana and Shreveport for many years. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, at Osborn Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, at Forest Park Cemetery. Mrs. Sturgis was born July 14, 1915 in Shreveport, LA to Jesse Byrd Harris and Pauline Schwartzenburg Harris. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Annabelle Harris Miner, Jessica Harris Goodwin, and one brother, Jesse Byrd Harris. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Clifton Johnson and her only child, Annabelle Johnson Dalton Kaplan. Later in life after the death of Cliff she married William Harold Sturgis. Together they worked with many charities until Harold Sturgis died. Pauline is survived by her grandchildren in England, Melissa Dalton Smith Currie, Antonia Dalton Sheedy, and Russell (Todd) Sturgis Dalton; great-grandchildren Juliette Smith, Callum Smith, Eleanor Sheedy, Mae Sheedy and Flora Sheedy; two sisters in law Elizabeth Harris McBride, and Elsie Johnson. Also many nieces and nephews.
