ALBERT J. GAST FUNERAL HELD
The Angel of Death called one of our prominent citizens, Albert J. Gast home January 14th at 7:50. Mr. Gast had been in good health and had attended the church meeting the day previous, and at which meeting he was elected to office. He suffered a stroke the following day and passed away suddenly.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Summit church near Tyler, Rev. Schumacher officiated. Pallbearers were six nephews: Arthur, Henry, Edward, Herman, Harold and Orville Cast.
Albert J. Gast was born June 4th, 1881, at Falls City, Richardson County, NE. At the age of ten years he came, with his parents, to North Dakota and settled in Summit Township, where he grew to manhood. He was confirmed April 2nd, 1896, by Rev. T. Hinck and on June 13th, 1906, was united in marriage to Meta Schmidt at Lake City, MN.
He leaves to mourn his death, a grief stricken wife, five sons and one daughter, namely: Robert, who is overseas; Carl, of near Tyler; John, at home; Ernest, of Cayuga and Alfred, at home: Marie, Mrs. George Lehman, of Fairmount: two brothers, John and William and four grandchildren, survive.
