Karl attended college and became a music teacher at MacPhail-Minneapolis School of Music and Dramatic Art. He was a violinist playing with the Cincinatti Symphony Orchestra. He also held positions at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa also in Ohio, Kansas and Arizona.
He died January 9, 1960 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Services for Karl will be at Welander-Quist mortuary conducted by Scottish Rite members with burial in Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, a stepson, Dr. Henry Carleston of Los Angeles, California and two sisters, Madeline (Mrs. Carle Zimmerman) of Winchester, Mass. and Lenore (Mrs. James Johnson) of Portland, Oregon.
The family prefers memorial to the scholarship fund at McPhail School of Music, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
