Seventh of eight children of John Gottfrid and Maggie Miller Franks, Ruth married Schley Winfield Rudolph. Sr. on Dec. 1, 1920 in Sibley. They had six children.

They farmed 2 miles south and 1/2 mile west of Sibley until 1954 when they moved to a farm near Mason, IL.
