Joseph L. "Joe" Bennett, 72, of Anderson died September 12, 2012 at St. John's Healthcare after a 1 1/2 year illness.
Joe was born April 18,1940 in Burkesville, Kentucky to Lennie and Norabell (Turner) Bennett.
He was a member of Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church and White River Bluegrass Club. He loved bluegrass music, fishing and hunting. He was a great cook.
He was maintenance supervisor at Jack Meyers for 26 years and was still working.
He is survived by his daughters Lisa Bennett and Beverly (Angelo) Smith; 5 brothers James Bennett, Elbert (Pauline) Bennett, Willard Bennett, Edwin Bennett and Cornell Bennett; 3 sisters Dorothy Haley, Betsy Cole and Mary Huckaby all of Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, Kent (Emily) Rosborough of Anderson; Amber (Curt) Courtad of Plymouth, MI; Alex Maier of Middletown and Mercedes Scott of Anderson; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; special cousin, Juanita Pierce of Kentucky; special friends, Jack Meyer of Anderson and Rev. Bill Ledbetter of Pendleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shelby Fay Bennett died April 2011; his sister Lizzie Bennett and 3 brothers Raymond, Junior and Leroy Bennett and a grandson, Kevin Cleon Scott.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Bill Ledbetter and Rev. Joe Roysden officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Walk Cemetery.
The visitation will be Friday, September 14, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral home.
