Grace Shelton Warfield was a sister to Cora, Lula, James "Jim" and the others that were all children of Joe and Margaret Lee Shelton. She married Cager Warfield. Bobby Warfield in this picture is one of her twins. I believe the other twin had passed away before this was taken. Not sure who the other lady is but think it may be her half sister Laura Shelton Hamblin. Aunt Grace was exactly 8 years older than my Mom, Cora. They lived near us on Hubbs Creek in knox county ky for a year or so when I was very small and I thought she was really special. If I was there when she would churn she would give me hot corn bread crust with fresh butter spread on it (I still love it). She would sing a little jingle about "Rings on her fingers, bells on her toes, she shall have music where ever she goes". Mrs. Cager Warfield
LaPorte - Mrs. Gracie Warfield, 59, of 501 18th. St., died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday in her home.
She had been ill three months.
Born in Bryant Store, Ky., Dec. 15, 1903, she had lived here for 12 years, coming from Corbin, Ky.
She was married May 23, 1923, in Bryant Store, to Cager T. Warfield, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, J. B.; at home, Theodore and Robert, both of LaPorte, and Edward, Sarasota, Fla.; three daughters; Mrs Charles Yozman, Mrs. Kenneth Bush and Mrs. Melvin Sheeps, all of LaPorte; five grandchildren; six brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Haverstock Funeral Home, with Rev. M. E. Reinke, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home.
