In the picture on this page is Earl's grandson(Marvin Davenport Jr. also know as Marvin J. Davenport. Earl is holding is great-grandson(Marvin Anthony Davenport) and Sharon Ruth Barnett Davenport. The picture was taken around the spring of 1976 in La Grange, Georgia. I had been told that Earl had been married 3 times. Although at the time Earl was married to Kathleen Roberson of whom they had 4 children together(2 boys and 2daughters). I know that the son's names were Joe&Bill of which one of them was also known as Hoppy. At the time of Earl' death 3 things were going on in the month of February 1978. one of them I was expecting my child so I could not go to the funeral. Earl's grandson( Marvin Davenport Jr. went down and all I know is while the family was making plans for Earl's funeral and I am sure Earl's funeral was scheduled on February 22, 1978 then the family received word that their mother had just died(Kathleen Roberson) and everything was posponed. I know they did have a double funeral sometime between February 23rd and February 27th. All I can remember that my husband at the time(Marvin Davenport Jr.) was back in Greenville, SC before the 27th of February 1978 because my daughter(Kathryn Lynn Davenport) was born. i have a link to Earl's daughter(Bertha by his first wife.)
