Christian Immigrated from Denmark to the USA in 1887. In the 1900 United States Census, Christian Christiansen shows him as a farmer and was living with his brother Jens in Desoto Township, Washington county, Nebraska. His wife, Ida and family arrived later. Along the way, Christian changed the spelling of his last name from Christiansen to Christensen.

CHRIS CHRISTENSEN, 79, DIED IN OMAHA FRIDAY; FUNERAL MONDAY
Chris Christensen, 79, who farmed near Blair in former years, died Friday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dora Sander, 3022 Tucker street Omaha. Born at Astrup, Denmark, June 7, 1862, he had lived in Nebraska since Coming to America 1887.

Funeral services, arrangements in charge of the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair, were held at 2:30 P.M. Monday at the Orum Danish Lutheran Church, the Rev. George E. Moeller of Omaha officiating. Interment was in Orum cemetery.

Mr. Christensen's wife died several months ago. Surviving him are three sons, Nels Christensen of Kennard, Marshall of Flint, Michigan, and Chris, Address unknown; three daughters, Mrs. K.T. Christensen of Bennington, Mrs. Tillie King and Mrs. Sanders, both of Omaha. There are two sisters, Mrs. Sena Wolff and Mrs Paulina Knutsen, Both of Orum. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.

Christ Christensen, 80, former resident of the Blair vicinity, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dora Sander, 3022 Tucker street.

Survivors: Son's, Nels, Kennard, and Marshall, flint Mich., daughter's, Mrs. K.T. Christensen, Bennington, Neb., Mrs. Tillie King, Omaha, and Mrs. Sander. Services at the Sander home, Florence, 1 p.m. Monday.

Cause of Death from death certificate: Bronchial Asthma, Myocardial Hegaueialium due to Mitral insuffencies. Aged 79 Years, 10 months and 3 days
