Amanda was born at Walnut Hill, Lebanon twp, Johnson County, Arkansas, USA. I remember when I was in high school we sat on the porch and Grandmother (my GG) told stores about how her parents, Jane Brown and William Davis came from Missouri to AR about 1863 in a wagon. The children had to take turns walking because there was a big barrel containing Jane's dishes that took up a lot of room in the wagon. Whoever's turn it was to ride in the wagon had to hold on to the barrel when they went over a rough patch of ground.
