She was named after her granmother Ann Fish Smith and great Aunt Betsy Fish Proctor. She married James Thomas Hackley of Lincoln and Anderson Counties at her father's home December 17, 1867. They were married by Rev. Simeon H. King. They had eight children. Ann died at her daughter Mary Hackley Winchester of near San Fernando, California. She was buried in the Grandview Cemetery, Burbank, Cal.∼77 years old.
