Paul H. Meyer, 81, 02469 Ohio 66, Minster, died at 7:34 p.m. April 2, 2004, at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys. He was born May 18, 1922, in Egypt, to Anton and Catherine Schmiesing Meyer. On June 19, 1947, he married Audrey A. Frierott who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Douglas P. (Susan) of Centerville and Dale A. of Minster; a daughter, Paula K. (Mark) Brunn, Mansfield; two sisters, Viola Shenk and Evelyn Schulte, both of Minster; a brother-in-law, Stan Bernard, Piqua; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Shockman, Edna Prenger and Audrey L. Meyer, all of Minster; and six grandchildren. Deceased are four brothers, Clarence, Norbert, Arthur and Wilfred, and a sister, Adella Bernard. He had served as co-owner of Meyer Dairy Co. and later as co-manager of The Dannon Co., Minster. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Orphan Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Athletic Booster Club, Cataract Fire Company, Travelers Protective Association, the American Legion Post and Civic Association, all of Minster. He served 29 years as a Minster Bank director and was one of the founders of Arrowhead Park Golf Golf Club, Minster, and the Industrial Development Corporation that later became the Minster Civic Club. He was a past member of the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Foundation, St. Marys, and a charter member of the Minster Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military rites conducted by the Minster Firing Squad. Calling is 3-8 p.m. today and 9-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Contributions can be made to Minster Area Life Squad or the Minster-Jackson Township Fire Department.
