Roy Hubbard Milburn
Kaysville, Utah - Roy Hubbard Milburn, 91, died December 25, 2001, in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was born September 12, 1910, in Stanton County, Kansas, to Ira Leonard Milburn and Pansy Hubbard. He married Dorothy FrancesTthornton of Eureka, Kansas on July 14, 1933. She passed away on Aug 30, 1989. Five children were born to that union. Dad was raised and educated in Morton County, Kansas. He was always a hard worker and learned that while working as a young man with his father and grandfather on their farms. Dad and mom moved several times while living in Kansas until 1948. At that time, they purchased a farm in Arriba, Colorado, and resided there until 1973, when they sold the farm and retired in Hugo, Colorado, so they could travel more, especially to Mathis, Texas to escape the harsh winters in eastern Colorado. In 1983, they bought a home in Kaysville, Utah where dad resided until he moved into the Apple Tree Retirement Home in Kaysville, in 1998. Dad was of the Christian faith. Dad had a great sense of humor and loved to play jokes on people. He also loved playing all types of games, and he particularly loved to play cards. While living in Arriba, he and mom would get together with neighborns once a week for a "card party," complete with prizes. While residing in Kaysville, he was affectionately known by all the neighborhood children as Grandpa Roy. Dad had many fond memories of his neighbors and missed living next to them when he moved into the Apple Tree. He will be missed by the many friends he made wherever he went.

Surviving are one son and four daughters, Walter (Barbara) Milburn, Grand Junction, CO; Eileen Peterson, Cheyenne, WY; Anna (Roy) Housey and Janice (Tom) Foster, both Isabell; MN and Mary (Glen) Colemere, Layton, Ut, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchilren. Also surviving are two brothers, Vernon and Donald, Two sisters, Mary Garrick and Leola Thompson, and many nieces and nehews.
