E.A. CARTER, 71, RICH LUMBERMAN, DIES AT CORPUS
CORPUS CHRISTI, Feb. 12. -- Ernest Anderson Carter, 71, retired millionaire lumberman, father of Police Commissioner Harvey Carter of Corpus Christi, and W.T. Carter of Houston, died at his home here at 10 o'clock Sunday morning.
Carter had been ill for three weeks, and succumbed of a heart attack.
He was prominently identified with the lumber business of East Texas for many years, especially at Camden and Barnum.
Surviving are three brothers, J.J. Carter of Franklin; C.L. Carter, lawyer, Houston and L.C. Carter of Nacogdoches, three sons; W.T. Carter of Houston, E.A. Carter, Jr., and Maury Carter of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Mrs. W.B. Landes of Beaumont and Miss Lula Lee Carter of Corpus Christi.
Funeral services will be held here probably Tuesday morning.
