OWATONNA – George A. Von Ruden, Rt. 4, Pratt, died Monday, Jan. 20, at his home. He was 79.
Mr. Von Ruden was born March 13, 1912, in Steele County. On Nov. 18, 1939, he married Sybilla Paukert in Claremont. Mr. Von Ruden farmed all of his life in Steele County. He served on the Havana Township Board for many years. Mr. Von Ruden was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by nine sons, Eugene of Faribault, Jim, Joe, Andy and Jerry, all of Owatonna, Pete of Algona, Iowa, Steve of Apple Valley, George Jr. of Claremont, and Chuck of Northfield; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Mary) Lampson, Woodinville, Wash., Mrs. John (Kathy) Sauber, Lakeville, and Mrs. Allen (Jayne) Seykora, Owatonna; a sister, Margaret Von Ruden, St. Paul; 29 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 16, 1980.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church. The Rev. Edward Mountain will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Thursday at Brick-Postlewaite Funeral Home. A Knights of Columbus and parish rosary will begin at 7:30 this evening at the funeral home.
