James J. Von Ruden, 62, of Owatonna died unexpectedly at his home on July 14, 2007.

He was born on Aug. 26, 1944 to George and Sybilla (Paukert) Von Ruden. Following his graduation from Marion High School he was drafted into the US Army and served in Korea. He married ... on April 19, 1969 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owatonna. Jim worked for Northern Natural Gas (now Md-America Gas) from 1970 to 2006 when he retired. Jim enjoyed fishing, wood-working and helping with farm work. He was meticulous in all of his endeavors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion, V.F.W. and the Eagles Club.

Jim is survived by his wife, ...; two sons, ...; eight brothers ...; three sisters, …, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Children Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owatonna. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna, with military honors rendered by the Steele County Funeral Detail.
